 Cupcakes

Cupcakes are a delightful and versatile dessert that comes in various flavors and decorations. Here's a basic recipe for making classic vanilla cupcakes along with vanilla buttercream frosting:

Vanilla Cupcakes:

Ingredients:

For the Cupcakes:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

For Vanilla Buttercream Frosting:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2-4 tablespoons whole milk or cream
  • Food coloring (if desired)

Instructions:

For the Cupcakes:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set it aside.

  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, which should take about 2-3 minutes.

  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

  6. Divide the cupcake batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.

  8. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the Vanilla Buttercream Frosting:

  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until it's creamy and smooth.

  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, and continue to beat until well combined.

  3. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. Add milk or cream, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired frosting consistency.

  5. If you'd like to color the frosting, add food coloring and mix until the color is even.

Decorate the Cupcakes:

Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, you can pipe or spread the vanilla buttercream frosting on top. You can also decorate with sprinkles, chocolate chips, or any other toppings of your choice.

Enjoy your homemade vanilla cupcakes! Feel free to get creative with flavors and decorations to suit your preferences.
