Barbecue



Classic Barbecue Sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine all the ingredients.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
  3. Simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed.
  5. Let the sauce cool before using.

Barbecue Chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 4-6 chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, or a combination)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Barbecue sauce (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Grill:

    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Season the Chicken:

    • Season the chicken pieces with salt and black pepper.
  3. Grill the Chicken:

    • Brush the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking.
    • Place the chicken on the grill and cook for about 10-15 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
    • During the last few minutes of cooking, brush the chicken with barbecue sauce, allowing it to caramelize.
