cooking CRAB RANGOON⁠


Ingredients:

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can (6 oz) crab meat, drained and flaked
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Sweet and sour sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, crab meat, chopped green onions, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place about a teaspoon of the crab mixture in the center of each wrapper.

  3. Moisten the edges of the wonton wrappers with water using your fingertip. Fold the wrappers in half diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal and eliminate any air pockets.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large, deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).

  5. Carefully add the crab Rangoon to the hot oil in small batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
