 cookies cocoa powder

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. This ensures there are no lumps in the cocoa powder.

  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until it's light and fluffy.

  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms. If you'd like, fold in the chocolate chips or chunks at this stage.

  6. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are set. Be careful not to overbake, as they will continue to firm up as they cool.

  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy your homemade cocoa powder cookies! They're perfect for satisfying your chocolate cravings.
